Literature as a Teaching Tool
Imagination and interaction can be powerful learning tools. Our teachers rely on both, using story-telling and open-ended discussions based on award-winning literature in their sessions.
In this way, we provide immersive learning experiences that keep children interested even as they learn problem-solving skills and discover new concepts.
Perspective-taking
Through picturebooks, children are introduced to a variety of characters and situations. This opens up perspectives that expand their worldview and help them develop empathy for others.
Meaning-making
Our educators don’t just read to children: they also read with them. This sparks dialogues where children learn to use prior knowledge with current context in order to construct meaning.
Critical Thinking
Our educators engage children and teach them to tackle what they’ve read from multiple fronts – analysing, evaluating, applying and more. This helps children develop depth in both their thought and understanding.
Early Literacy & Visual Literacy
Our literature-rich learning environments help build essential language skills such as vocabulary, comprehension, self-expression and even visual literacy.

Story Creation
Write a Rainbow
With this programme, we give every child a voice. From the playgroup level onwards, children discover the many elements of a story as they progress through preschool.
Eventually, they write their own short stories to showcase their self-expression and imagination.
Character Building
Stanley Starfish™
Stanley Starfish™ is our bespoke character programme. Through a series of stories involving Stanley and his friends, children are introduced to 12 foundational character traits, including Respect, Truthfulness, Responsibility and Love.
They learn to apply these traits in their daily interactions with peers.
Mathematical Skills
Math Programme
We expose kindergarteners to mathematical skills through our literature-based curriculum and prepare them for formal schooling.
The main topics covered are Numbers & Operations, Pattern Awareness & Relationships, Geometry, Measurement and Data Representation & Analysis.
Literacy
Reading Programme
Starting in Nursery 2, children master 44 English sounds and spelling patterns through the Code Cracker Synthetic Phonics Programme.
They learn to read by relating individual sounds to letters and blending them to read whole words. These skills learned are then applied to storybooks designed to enhance reading fluency and comprehension.
Chinese Language and Culture
乐中学，施中学
乐中学，施中学 (Lè zhōngxué, shī zhōngxué) makes Chinese language learning a fun endeavour. For this, we use games, experiments, dramatisation and of course, picturebooks!
Chinese culture appreciation is also encouraged through hands-on activities like calligraphy, poetry and Chinese brushstroke painting.
Multi Sports
Ready Steady Go Kids
Ready Steady Go Kids is Australia’s famous multi-sports and exercise programme for preschoolers. With it, we introduce children to the fundamentals of sports like golf, hockey, soccer and baseball.
With these physio-designed activities, we help children build teamwork, sportsmanship and an interest in physical fitness.
Enrichment Programmes to Realise Children’s Potential
Our enrichment programmes provide the perfect opportunity for outstanding learners to further excel and grow. Provided in collaboration with quality partners, our programmes further both children’s interests and strengths.
Speech and Drama
With speech and drama lessons in both English and Mandarin, we help children develop self-confidence as well as communication skills. They can also develop a love of language in yet another fun, engaging way.
Creative Expression
With programmes for art and music, we strengthen children’s non-verbal self-expression skills. These classes also tap into emotional growth and the development of fine motor skills.
Gym
Conducted by trained coaches in safe environments, our gymnastics classes are great for physical development. They help build strength, flexibility and confidence in one’s body.
Sports
In addition to the sports we already offer through Ready Steady Go Kids, we also provide classes for sports like Aikido. Picturebooks for this are even read by professional aikido teachers as a friendly introduction to the sport.
STEM
Hands-on activities nurture children’s problem-solving and logical capabilities. These lay the groundwork for a future in STEM pursuits such as coding and scientific research.
